What are ODC's hours of operation?

We are open Monday through Friday 6:30am - 6:00pm all year round.

Can I call or visit the center anytime to check on my child?

Yes.  We have an open door policy so we encourage visits and calls at any time for current and prospective families.

What teacher to child ratios do you go by?

At minimum, we follow the State ratio guidelines which are 1:4 for under two, 1:6 for twos, 1:10 for threes, 1:12 for Pre-K, and 1:17 for ages five and up.

What education/training do you require your teachers to have?

Many of our teachers have Associates or Bachelors degrees in Education.  All of our teachers are required to have the Introduction to the Child Care Profession and Skills & Strategies for the Child Care Teacher classes.  Also, teachers working with children under age 2 are required to take the Fundamentals of Infant & Toddler Care class.

Are meals included in the rates?

Yes.  We provide breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack.  Our menu serves a variety of foods and follows the State nutritional guidelines.  Morning snack is parent volunteer.

What is your vacation policy?

Families are billed a flat weekly rate based on their regular weekly schedule.  Each family is given two weeks worth of vacation coupons per year which can be turned in for credit and applied to any day that the child would normally be scheduled but does not attend.

Do you charge an annual registration fee?

No.  We only require a one time one week deposit to hold your child's spot in the center.  This deposit is eventually applied to your last week of care.
